Damien has undertaken the most comprehensive research to date of mud wasp nests over and under rock art. The recent findings have been the subject of global media attention.  His dating technique confirmed a two metre long painting of a kangaroo deep in a northeast Kimberley rock shelter on Balanggarra Country was painted around 17,300 years ago – dating back more than 600 generations!

Damien is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Earth Sciences and a member of the RAA-funded Rock Art Dating project.
