Welcoming Fiona Menzies as CEO of Rock Art Australia

It gives us great pleasure to introduce Fiona Menzies, who commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Rock Art Australia in January 2026.

Fiona is a highly respected senior leader across the arts and cultural, government and philanthropic sectors, with deep expertise in strategy, partnerships and philanthropy.

She joins Rock Art Australia at an exciting moment in our organisation’s evolution and growth, following the appointment of the Hon Ken Wyatt AM JP as Chair and the acquisition of two major projects at the end of 2025.

These key milestones expand our research footprint across Australia, open new opportunities for partnerships with communities, institutions, Indigenous Leaders, and researchers nationally, and globally, setting Rock Art Australia up for a strong and inspiring next chapter.

We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to Cas Bennetto, who has guided Rock Art Australia as Interim CEO through a period of leadership change, and we are grateful that she will continue in the role through to the end of February to support a smooth transition.
