We are pleased to have been invited to present as part of Victoria’s Kingston Library’s Expert Series. Spanning more than 10,000 years, Australia’s rock art reflects deep connections to Country, traditional knowledge systems, spiritual beliefs, and lived experiences of First Nations peoples.
In this talk RAA’s Director of Research, and Chair of our Science Advisory Council, Dr Helen Green will outline the latest scientific techniques used to establish the age of Australia’s oldest rock art, and the innovative, multi-disciplinary projects that bring together traditional Indigenous knowledge and Western science to deepen our understanding of these remarkable cultural records and how we might protect them into the future.
Whether you’re passionate about Indigenous culture, archaeology, art, or Australia’s natural landscapes, this is a rare opportunity to gain insight into the stories written in stone and the collaborative efforts ensuring their survival for future generations.
