Dating Australia’s Oldest Rock Art – Online Presentation

Watch Helen Green’s online presentation: Dating Australia’s Oldest Rock Art, as part of the Archaeological Institute of Ameria‘s Archaeology Hour: March 2026, event.
In this talk, Helen described how the scientific techniques used in the Rock Art Australia–funded Rock Art Dating Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, have advanced our understanding of past changes in climate, environment, and culture.
She emphasised the strength of co-designed, multidisciplinary projects, and how applying Indigenous knowledges to Western scientific methods enhances our understanding of cultural records and informs strategies to preserve and manage rock art as Indigenous Cultural Heritage of global significance.
