We are a small team supporting researchers in the field, and engaging with the public, project partners, and donors to support Rock Art Australia’s objectives. As a Not for Profit organisation, RAA relies on the generous support of donors to enable current and future programs. Fundraising is therefor at the core of what we do.
Our Board
In addition to setting the strategic direction of the company, overseeing its systems of accountability and control, Rock Art Australia directors work hard to support the small staff team.
At every opportunity directors visit Aboriginal partner organisations in the field and for many years an annual board meeting has been held in the Kimberley.
Our Science Advisory Council
The Foundation established a Science Advisory Council (SAC) in 2006. Rock Art Australia’s relationship with tertiary and cultural institutions is vital as we continue to fund and initiate research centred on rock art. The SAC is made up of a diverse group of eminent scientists from tertiary institutions across Australia who guide and shape our long term research program. The Chair of the SAC is Professor Andrew Gleadow AO, FAA, Professor of Geology and former Head of the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
