Join Dr Helen Green online, as she presents Dating Australia’s Oldest Rock Art, as part of the AIA Archaeology Hour: March 2026
In this talk, Helen will outline how the scientific techniques used in the Rock Art Australia–funded Rock Art Dating Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, have advanced our understanding of past changes in climate, environment, and culture.
She will also highlight the strength of co-designed, multidisciplinary projects, and how applying Indigenous knowledge to Western scientific methods enhances our understanding of cultural records and informs strategies to preserve and manage rock art as Indigenous Cultural Heritage of global significance.
